That is sick. I would check for drugs again.

Perhaps this was all meant as a horribly misguided homage to Vincent van Gogh. In the days to come,Read More we may read of a lucky lady—or gent—receiving a parcel containing the rapper’s severed appendage and a note inscribed with the words: “Take it, it will be useful.”

I pick up styrofoam cups In The wetlands along Kettletown road all the time. People throw themRead More and beer cans, nip bottles, soda cans, and McDonalds bags there regularly. In the woods, their personal dumping grounds. No one picks them up. I do. People honk their horns when I'm out there, but no one helps. What gives?
Laura markowicz Toscano April 18, 2014 at 10:40 pm
Nobody bothers to pick up trash across from their homes. Maybe they're embarrassed to be seenRead More picking up trash, but nobody does it. George's Hill Road is also littered with ignorant people's trash. Can't people take the time to pick it up?

Sure I'd use my own mug or a paper disposable cup if they offered it through the coffee shops. HowRead More about 5 cents off the cost of a cup of coffee if you bring your own mug?? Supermarkets do it if you bring your own shopping bag why not coffee shops?? Lord knows we all love our coffee! Ok, I do anyway. :)

I fail to see what this guy's race or politicial affiliation has to do with what he did. He looksRead More white to me (so the "third-world" comment doesn't make sense), and the "Obozocare" comment is absolutely ridiculous. You can blame the video games, but this guy had an underlying reason for what he did. You have to have a lot of patience to deal with a baby. They cry. They screw up your life if you really haven't grown up. I was appalled that he is being charged with third-degree murder, but I don't think he meant to kill his son. He just wasn't mature enough to be a father.
tamarya April 19, 2014 at 12:33 pm
Well pam that is where i was getting with my comment. Time people grow the hell up! There is noRead More reason a 24 yr old MAN should be too immature to raise a baby. Start teaching these young adults to be young adults, not 2 yr old babies. In high school is where it can start.
DP April 18, 2014 at 07:50 pm
Easter eggs should be boiled and cooled down before coloring. Water boils at 212 degrees in CT. WhatRead More causes salmonella with eggs is not the egg itself, but fecal matter from the hen that might remain on the shell of the egg. When you boil an egg in its shell, you are killing everything about it. Including possible salmonella.
Paula Antolini April 18, 2014 at 08:17 pm
@DP...actually the bacteria can get into the egg from the inside or the outside, here is more aboutRead More eggs and chickens than you might want to know, and I think I will pass on the eggs tomorrow thank you! (from 2010 but still holds true I assume): http://news.discovery.com/human/health/egg-salmonella-bacteria.htm

There's so much material about what some call the pagan origins or many things presumed to beRead More Christian, where does one start? http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2010/apr/03/easter-pagan-symbolism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_and_Paganism snd counter arguments http://www.bible.ca/trinity/trinity-pagan-christianity.htm Then there's a psychological predisposition to mirror social explanations into archetypes of this sort: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungian_archetypes Is the "tooth fairy" a lie? (When parents provide the swap for the tooth in the middle of the night) Is Santa real or not, when we create Santa by providing presents? Is Easter a spring fertility rite that happens to coincide with the time of Passover? Does Mithraism explain the resurrection? In terms of creating a social "norm", does it matter?

I think we may have missed the most important aspect to take away from this article, and thatRead More is.... Strive to be the CEO, do all you can to the best of your ability. Be the first one in last one out everyday. Take on the responsibilities that no one else is willing to. If you aren't willing to do all these things, then maybe you won't be a millionaire CEO, and that's OK just don't begrudge hard work and earnings because it didn't get handed to them. They were willing to do things along the way perhaps someone else wasn't willing to do, and hey...maybe they got lucky too.

@Jim...With all respect, if you are being paid with bread, I suggest you leave the bakery; if yourRead More child is not getting the education he/she needs, I suggest getting more involved; if you wondering why outsourcing continues, look no further than your local union, they want more for doing less; if you feel like your children are destined to not be successful, I suggest you get off YOUR butt and show them how to prepare for the future and TEACH them the skills needed for the REAL WORLD. Asking for a handout, in any form, is pathetic. Perhaps I'm critical because I've been out of work and know first hand that one needs to distinguish themself to find a new job. My experience has been that people who are critical of the rich are the same people who are unwilling to take FULL accountability for their own mistakes and failures and choose to point the finger at blame towards those who have succeeded, without even learning how the got there.

Thanks Igor, you are right this is a free country and we should be allowed to end it when we want. HeRead More lost his family and he felt he enjoyed life to the end...He made the decision which I'm proud he was able to do...

No one should sit in judgement of this man! Who are you? You are nobody to him and know absolutlyRead More nothing about him, his life or his death. He explaned his thoughts and feelings, take from it what you will but keep your judgements to your self, its not up to you. After reading some of the comments from this mans fellow human beings, can see why he might choose to leave.
Igor April 19, 2014 at 01:50 pm
Silent from what I gathered from the articles I read (and I may be wrong) but this wasn't a snapRead More decision. Obviously he gave this a lot of thought.

I didn't read anything in the story about the father. What does the dad getting lucky have to doRead More with the story? Is "somebody" a bitter ex?
Eric S April 19, 2014 at 11:51 am
Brian, the point of including the father is the family history of poor behaviors and the popularRead More opinion that money bought off the law rather than justice being served.

NO -----SHE DESERVES WHAT SHE GOT..- She STABBED STABBED STABBED..she should have gotten the deathRead More penalty.....but michigan has only life in prison. Don't have sympathy for her just because she's a woman. She's a cold blooded killer and deserves what she got.
RON Ostrodamus April 19, 2014 at 03:11 am
The death penalty certainly cuts down on the record number of incarcerations in America. Enough ofRead More this liberal crap on humane punishment. The word "humane' never enters the minds of these cold blooded killers. What is going to happen if another bombing takes place outside of Texas? What is going to happen with the next airplane hijacking, or Boston?
DDB April 19, 2014 at 07:29 am
Don, the comments were made at sentencing, not at trialso it hss no bearing on her conviction.

Igor April 19, 2014 at 09:39 am
HF the charges were dropped. There is a problem because and I quote from the Patch"Lewis saysRead More he never noticed "No Free Re-Fill" signs and admits he had refilled his drink without paying on other occasions" and "On-site construction worker Chris Lewis told WCSC News he didn't know refills at the VA Medical Center in downtown Charleston weren't free."Where did you read that he knew he had to pay for it? No where in the article does he said he knew it.

Horses should not be nose to exhaust pipe on city streets. That is cruelty and the horse had hadRead More enough.

A horse and carriage ride in a park, fine. But not on busy, crowded city streets. It's cruel to theRead More horse and dangerous to everyone else. I'm with the NYC mayor on this one.

Yes, it's time for the bikes to hit the streets. I ask that they please try and ride single fileRead More when a vehicle approaches to allow room for safe passing. Last week I had to drive behind 3 of them riding side by side.....they knew I was there, one turned and saw me behind them, and wouldn't allow the courtesy of room to pass. I respect your vulnerability of a 180lbs. person on a 20lbs. bike, so please show some respect for the 180lbs. person driving that 3,500lbs vehicle, not all are as patient as some. Ride safely
