<p>The white church on Main Street is the third home of the First Congregational Church of Bethel. The first church, built in 1759, was destroyed in 1842 by fire and the second was destroyed by a tornado.</p> <p>The church cemetery next to the building is the oldest burial place in Bethel.</p>
