Some of the goals of Bethel's Health Department are to protect residents' health, prevent disease and promote healthy lifestyle choices. Its office is also in charge of health inspections, managing health complaints and identifying local health issues. The Health Department is also responsible for being prepared for and responding to any health emergencies.
