Safety Products Donated to Habitat for Humanity by Bethel-Based Corporation

Elvex Corperation, located in Bethel, recently found extra supplies and donated them to a good cause.

While doing inventory for her employer Elvex Corporation in Bethel, Operations Manager Leslie Hegedus stumbled on some extra boxes of safety glasses and earplugs. Knowing that these products could be useful to a Habitat for Humanity construction site, she got her company’s approval and they generously donated them to Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.

“When Leslie and her son Stephen came and dropped off over 2,000 pairs of safety glasses and hundreds of earplugs to us, we were so pleasantly surprised,” said Mary Aly, Executive Director at Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.  “Many people have noticed that we have moved to our new location on Route 7 and having that visibility has really helped us tremendously."

Located at 51 Sugar Hollow Road on the Danbury/Ridgefield line, Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to mobilize the local community to provide responsible homeownership opportunities to lower income families.
