Bethel Woman Named 'Connecticut Pacesetter' by the American Cancer Society

American Cancer Society recognizes state residents for outstanding fundraising efforts for making strides against breast cancer campaign.

Rebecca Brady, of Bethel, was one of nearly 50 individuals throughout Connecticut that have been recognized by the American Cancer Society as a “Connecticut Pacesetter” for their outstanding fundraising efforts during the Society’s 2010 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Campaign.

Individuals are bestowed with the title “Pacesetter” if they raise more than $2,000 during Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. In 2010 the Pacesetter program collectively raised more than $187,000. Dollars raised through the Pacesetter program enable the Society to offer free programs and services that help people fight cancer with courage and optimism, while providing day-to-day help, emotional support, and 24-hour information to help ease the cancer experience. Additionally, contributions provide the Society with much-needed dollars to fund groundbreaking cancer research, educate people about the importance of cancer prevention and early detection and advocate for meaningful public health policies that benefit the community.

The American Cancer Society Pacesetter program gives you the opportunity to take your passion and motivation for fighting breast cancer to the next level. Pacesetters receive special perks which include:

  • Acknowledgement at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events
  • Recognition and appreciation on the Making Strides website
  • The honor and pride of knowing you are helping to end breast cancer
