Bethel's ProAccess Kids Remember Colorado Victims

Red ribbons tied throughout town remember the victims of the Dark Knight tragedy.

Eight teens from the ProAccess Teen Center gathered together to tie ribbons in rememberance of the victims of the movie theatre slaying in Colorado.

"I think tying the ribbons raises awareness," Danielle Wildman said, sitting at a round table with other teens at the Center.

Director Hilda DeLucia said that doing this activity was the only way the teens could let people know how much they care.  "I think it would be comforting to those families to know a little town like Bethel would do something like this."

Gabriella LiCari agreed, saying, "It felt like we were helping a little bit.  We can't go anywhere to help."

Other teens that showed up for the project were Ryan Hensley, Victoria Palmer, Carina Leggio, Ariana Leggio, Emily Johnson, and jaxxon Saloman-Reed.  Kevin Awalt of Gotham Auto Works pitched in as did Gretchen Cosgrove.

The bows and ribbons were made and donated by Alice's Flower Shop and A Country Touch.
