People's United Community Foundation Grant Award to TBICO

People's United Community Foundation gives grant award to TBICO!

Mr. Vincent Santilli, Executive Director of the People's United Community Foundation, came to TBICO for a site-visit and to present Ms. LouAnn Bloomer, students and staff, with a $3,000 check for the nonprofit's employment skills education mission and curriculum. TBICO is very proud to be included in PUCF's roster of 2013 grant recipients!

Mr. Santilli noted, "The People's United Community Foundation was established to support the charitable outreach of People's United Bank and our commitment to serving the needs of our communities. Through our community partnerships, we have provided basic resources, improved educational outcomes and empowered individuals in their efforts toward self-sufficiency."

TBICO is a perfect example of the nonprofits PUCF supports with Community Development grants - addressing employment skills training, financial literacy and self-sufficiency, helping individuals gain the knowledge and skills needed for successful employment. Mr. Santilli was very impressed with TBICO's curriculum and the students' work and progress.

People's United Community Foundation reports, "Our collaborative efforts have helped individuals meet the demands of employment, created opportunities for individual growth, and fostered self-sufficiency, economic stability, and community vitality in the areas we serve."
