Fresh off , the Brookfield//Danbury Icecats were defeated Tuesday in the Division III semifinal game against Northwest Catholic.
The Danbury News-Times reported that third-seeded Northwest Catholic pulled ahead in the second period for the 4-3 win.
Coach Rusty Granacker told the newspaper that first period penalties hurt the Icecats’ chances, but he was proud of how well they played, especially goalie Ryan Campbell, who held Northwest Catholic’s score down. The Icecats were not able to capitalize on third period scoring opportunities, however.
