Today's Lacrosse, Golf and Tennis Review

This weeks scores for Wildcats

BHS Girl’s Lacrosse Builds Big Halftime Lead, holds on to beat Fairfield Ludlowe 10-9.

By Michael Ferraro

The Lady Wildcats took a 9-4 half time lead and forced their opponent into many unforced errors in route to their second consecutive victory of the season.

Bethel’s strategy was to slow the fast paced Falcons down by using the clock and forcing Fairfield Ludlowe out of their normal rhythm.

Bethel was led by senior Stephanie Hirst 7 first half points (5 goals 2 assists) and senior Stephanie Forese 10 saves in goal to improve their record to 2-0.  Third year coach Shelly DeSisto pointed to this win as a big one for Bethel’s program and an early season litmus test for her team.

Bethel will have to face Fairfield Ludlowe again in two weeks but this time on the Wildcat’s home turf.   Bethel’s scoring was rounded out by Serina Ghio (2 goals 1 assist) Anna Fiorini 2 goals and Brooke Ferraro 1 goal.

Bethel will play their first home game of the season against the Lancers of Notre Dame of Fairfield this Thursday, April 12th  at 5:00.

Jessica, what do you mean 'when society lets them down'? I'm struggling to understand what you areRead More trying to convey... Please elaborate if you can.

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?

It was a great job Mike and the EDC did on keeping the jobs from Cannondale from leaving Bethel. TooRead More bad Paul Z. won't have the guts to ask you about it on this "lively" show.
