Ralph J. DeSantis Scholarship Golf Tournament to be Held on June 27

Spots are still available for the 12th Annual Ralph J. DeSantis Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Bethel High School sports and its athletes. The DeSantis Tournament returns to Oxford Greens Golf Club on Monday, June 27. Registration begins at 12 p.m. and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m. A box lunch will be provided and dinner, prizes and the raffle will follow the conclusion of the round.

Thanks to the money raised in sponsorship and golf participation fees at last year’s event, the tournament was able to distribute $10,000 in Ralph DeSantis’ scholarships to athletes in the class of 2010 and 2011. With donors help, the plan is to do the same for the class of 2012 if not more.

In addition to the scholarships, contributions will help continue to upgrade the weight room and exercise areas, purchase new banners for the SWC Champion hockey, and state championship soccer teams. In addition donors' support, will allow the All Sports Boosters to provide transportation to over 375 students to three state championship games in football, hockey, and soccer game to any students who may not have been able to attend otherwise. The fact is, that the athletes and the athletic program at BHS are on the rise and they need continued support. 

A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available. These range from a tee sponsorship for $250 to a title sponsorship. The boosters are also very sensitive to the economic climate, so this year it has elected to decrease the cost to participate in the golf event.
