Rockwell School Gets New Principal

From a pool of 43 applicants, Bethel school officials announced the choice of Tricia Soucy to lead Anna H. Rockwell School as its new principal.

"We are thrilled to have Trish join our educational community and look forward to the great work she will do at Rockwell School," said Superintendent Kevin J. Smith in a note to the Bethel school community.

Soucy has worked in education for more than a decade, teaching English/Language Arts and serving as Supervisor of Humanities in Montville Township, NJ.  A Waterbury native, she comes to Bethel from Riverdale, NJ, where she served as principal for Riverdale Public School. Among other recognitions, she was named an "Urban Teacher Academy Hero" by the College of New Jersey.

Smith said plans are being made for Soucy to appear at a meet-and-greet with parents and students later this summer.
