Bethel CAPT Test Scores Up From Last Year
Bethel tenth graders did better in all areas of the CAPT this year, especially in mathematics and science.
Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) results were released Tuesday only to reveal that Bethel students improved in all areas of the test, which includes mathematics, science, reading and writing.
This year, Bethel tenth graders scored particularly better in math and science, whereas reading and writing scores only slightly increased since 2010.

Mathematics
The average scale scores went up by more than five points in math. This year, students' rates of meeting goal and proficient scores are the highest they've been in five years.

Science
Bethel saw the highest increase in science scores this year, which increased by nearly seven points.

Reading
While reading scores increased by just over two points, less students met the state's goal.
Writing
Bethel saw the least improvement in writing scores, which only increased by less than one point.
