Positive Discipline....great for parents of ANY age children!

Positive Discipline has profoundly changed every one of my relationships, and helped me find peace of mind!

What are some of the things have I learned that has helped improve my relationships?

·         Self-respect and respect for others.

·         To set boundaries that meet my needs, as well as the needs of others.

·         To ask more than tell and encourage more than praise.

·         To listen and express understanding of other people's feelings.

·         Allowing others to do what they are capable of doing, rather than "stepping in".

·         Learning from my mistakes, and allowing others to learn from theirs.

·         How to walk away and calm down when I'm upset, then coming back to talk about what happened and work to solve the problem.

For example, I used to say really nasty things to my husband when I was angry.  I now let him know that I need to go cool down, and I come back to talk about things when I am calm again.  I used to tell my Dad what to do, and he is incredibly capable of making decisions for himself.  I used to rescue one of our adult sons when he was in trouble, taking away his ability to learn from his mistakes.  I now allow him to make mistakes and learn from them.  I used to do things for our other adult son that he was perfectly capable of doing himself.  I now allow him to do things for himself, giving him the gift of knowing he is capable and independent.

So no matter what age your children are, you too can benefit from Positive Discipline!
