Last month a bill passed in the General Assembly that bans the chocolate milk sold in schools, because of the small amounts of sodium added to the lunchtime favorite. The bill was passed in order to bring Connecticut in-line with new federal school lunch standards.
Malloy said this amount of salt wasn’t enough to justify banning chocolate milk, which many people believe is the only way children will get key nutrients. He says he will veto the bill, which will also veto other sections including student internship programs and professional development for teachers.
