Last Day to Declare Personal Property
Forms filed after the deadline will be charged a 25 percent late fee.
Friday, Nov. 1 is the deadline to declare personal property to the Town Assessor, including unregistered motor vehicles.
Standard declaration forms can be downloaded above and specific forms for heavy equipment and machinery, etc., can be found on the Town Assessor’s website.
The forms can be delivered in person or postmarked by Nov. 1.
Residents who fail to declare their personal property will be charged with a 25 percent penalty in addition to taxes due, as required by Section 12-42 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
