Campaign Notebook: Opponents Use McMahon for Contributions

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Christopher Shays (R), U.S Rep. Chris Murphy (D) and Susan Bysiewicz (D) have all used Republican Linda McMahon's image to garner campaign contributions, reports NECN. They have sent out e-mails to supporters criticizing the WWE and McMahon's stancon on women's health issues, among other things.

Fifth District

Chris Donovan (D): Daniel Monteiro, the eighth individual identified in Donovan's campaign contribution controversy, was arraigned in federal court on Friday, reports the Register Citizen. Authorities believe Monteiro "provided access to third parties through which illegal contributions might be made to Donovan's campaign."

Andrew Roraback (R): Endorsed Roraback will face his opposing Republican candidates in a debate Monday night at Brookfield High School at 6:30pm, reports News Times. The debate was sponsored by the Brookfield Republican Town Committee.
