News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Linda McMahon (R): Tim Murtaugh has replaced Erin Isaac as McMahon's communications director, according to the New Haven Register. Isaac returned to Florida for family reasons.

Susan Bysiewicz (D): In a recent statement, Bysiewicz supports President Obama's plan to extend tax cuts for small businesses and the middle class.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): The Hill reports on Jim Himes' support for biking and carbon counting, which tracks the positive environmental impact of not driving.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik blames opponent Jim Himes for the poor rate of new jobs in June, which were reported by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, reports the Connecticut Post.

He said, "The Himes record has blanketed businesses both small and large with economic uncertainty causing people to rethink making critical investments in their people."

I think there should be a call for honesty here. Susan Bysiewicz supports President Obama's desire to extend the Bush Tax Cuts for the middle class, but not for those making more than 250k a year, thereby painting the picture he cares about the middle class and hates the wealthy. There. Now that's honest reporting.
