Linda McMahon’s campaign filed an ethics complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics, alleging that Chris Murphy received an overly generous home mortgage from Webster Bank. Both Murphy and the bank deny the accusations.
Politico reports that the impact of the complaint will be limited since the Office of Congressional is prohibited from acting on cases in the 60 days before an election.
Politico wrote, “the practical impact of McMahon’s complaint to the OCE is likely to be some bad headlines for Murphy rather than any significant legal problems.”

Elizabeth Esty (D): The Esty campaign is criticizing Roraback on women’s rights and a planned visit of vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan, reports The Record-Journal.
Andrew Roraback (R) has an ally in Mark Greenberg, the socially conservative candidate who lost the primary to Roraback. The Register Citizen reports that Greenberg has been reaching out to supporters on Roraback’s behalf despite their differences.
