Campaign Notebook: McMahon Debuts New Ad

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Linda McMahon (R): The campaign released a new ad that talks up McMahon’s business credentials with the WWE, and criticizes Chris Murphy for skipping committee hearings in Congress, while also condemning a couple of his votes.

Chris Murphy (D): A shows Murphy leading by four points. A poll released from Quinnipiac University earlier this week showed McMahon with a three-point lead, so the race appears to be close.

Fifth District

The husband of Elizabeth Esty – who heads the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection – found himself in the middle of the campaign. The Register Citizen reports that Andrew Roraback demanded that Esty not accept campaign donations from the companies her husband regulates.

Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
