Campaign Notebook: Courant Endorses Shays in Republican Primary

Linda McMahon (R): McMahon appeared on Better Connecticut's "Cooking with the Candidates" on Thursday. 

Christopher Shays (R): The Hartford Courant endorses Christopher Shays for the August 14 Republican primary. 

Susan Bysiewicz (D): Bysiewicz has pulled her controversial television ad that accused Democratic rival Chris Murphy of accepting the most Wall Street contributions of any candidate, reports Real Clear Politics. Bysiewicz stands by the claim and said the ad "had run its course." 

Fifth Congressional District

Democrats Elizabeth Esty and Dan Roberti have joined Republican opponents Mark Greenberg and Lisa Wilson-Foley in self-funding their campaigns, reports the National Journal. Now four out of the seven candidates have contributed significant amounts of money to their own campaign.
