Campaign Notebook: Candidates’ Wealth Becomes Election Issue

Linda McMahon (R), a millionaire from her work at the WWE stands in stark contrast to her opponent Chris Murphy when it comes to wealth. Murphy has used the difference in wealth as an issue on the campaign trail, reports The Day.

Chris Murphy (D): U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3) and Murphy in Middletown to explain the importance of supporting the Affordable Care Act last week. They joined health care workers and Teresa Younger from the state Permanent Commission on the Status of Women in explaining how the ACA has placed female health on par with that of men.

DeLauro concluded the panel by saying, "the issues that we talked about today are absolutely issues of life and death. There is nothing that is more important. You need to take that message and you need to drive that home."

Fifth District

The awkwardness of having defeated Democratic nominee hopeful Chris Donovan still on the ballot in November is no longer an issue. The Working Families Party announced their support for Elizabeth Esty, who won the primary, and Donovan withdrew from the race, .
