Robbery Victim Arrested, Adult Baby Calls Preschool

Unusual police news from New Haven and Fairfield Counties.

Hamden Police arrested the manager of a liquor store that was robbed in August. The man allegedly lied to police about how much money was stolen in that robbery and is now facing charges of making a false statement and interfering with police.

A Naugatuck man left messages on the phone of a preschool saying he pees the bed, wears diapers and has a lot in common with young children, police said. He then went to the church where the preschool is located asking if he could apply for a job, according to a police report.

An Oxford woman was one of two charged with stealing more than $750 worth of DVDs from Walmart in Naugatuck.

Orange police allegedly caught one of two men grabbing pumpkins from a Stop & Shop grocery store display on the Boston Post Road and smashing them on the ground in the early hours of Oct. 19.

After allegedly blowing by a red light in Monroe, a man reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana, but after stepping out of his car, police said the driver changed his story, telling the officer that the pot he smelled was coming from people in a nearby parking lot. He was arrested for DUI.

Monroe detectives arrested two suspects linked to three burglaries their town and 14 more arrests are pending in a regional investigation of burglaries in six other Fairfield County towns.

A high speed motorcycle chase on I-95 involving Connecticut State Police and several bikes endedin Westport after local police were called on to the chase.

During a verbal argument with a companion inside a vehicle, a Milford man allegedly damaged the stereo and dome light.

In Norwalk, a mob assaulted a pair leaving the grocery store this week. Up to 20 men became attacking one of the victims and the car the victims were entering.

A Good Samaritan breaking up an attempted robbery of a woman' cellphone by a teen on a bike was the first in a series of similar instances throughout the week in which teens on bikes have seemingly been attacking women for their devices.

A Fairfield man was charged with sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace after he allegedly walked into a shop on the Post Road and demanded $18 from the register, police said. He reportedly needed to fix a broken pipe in his home.

A Shelton man got an unexpected surprise Thursday morning when a , packing materials and cash in his home -- which is in a school zone. The suspect's two-year-old child was sleeping in a crib at the time of the raid, while his other three kids were at school.
