Police Warn of Continuous Car Break Ins in Bethel
Press release issued Thursday afternoon.
After more than a dozen car break ins were reported in Bethel over the past two weeks, the Bethel Police Department's crime prevention unit issued the following press release:
"The Bethel Police Department would like to make residents aware of a rash of motor vehicle break-ins that have occurred the past several nights. There have been several vehicles broken into during the overnight hours in the area of Tremont Avenue, Grassy Plain Street and Melillo Avenue. The thief of thieves are targeting unlocked motor vehicles and removing valuable from inside the vehicle. Residents are urged to lock their vehicles when not in use and to remove valuable from inside their vehicles. Anyone with information regarding the break-ins is asked to contact the Bethel Police Department at 203-744-7900."
In , the police confirmed that break ins also occurred on Bethpage Drive, South Street, Saxon Road and Reservoir Street. Mostly cash and GPS units were taken.
