A Monroe woman was arrested for operating under the influence after police said she drove over another woman’s lawn on her way to a daycare center, where she allegedly had trouble staying awake, falling asleep while reading children a story.

A Westport police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that had crossed the double yellow line multiple times. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath and noticed that she had red, glassy eyes. She failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI.

Wilton and Norwalk police worked in unison to apprehend a Brookfield man who is accused of stealing a laptop computer that is worth nearly $700.

Trumbull Police charged a Trumbull man with stealing his neighbor's house key and stealing thousands of dollars in items from the home. Police said he took watches, including a $3,000 Rolex; two iPads and an iPhone; coins and more watches from the home in February. Total value, $6,000.

Milford Police arrested a suspect who is accused of discharging a can of Bear Deterrent in the second floor hallways area of a Howard Johnson on the Boston Post Rd.

A 17-year-old Greenwich boy faces numerous charges stemming from the burglary of a garage where he stole a pickup truck he took on a joyride and hit the parked car of a woman who was retrieving a child from the rear seat, and fled the scene, according to Greenwich Police.

A burglar Stamford police said was "prolific" in the area in 2002 was charged after already being incarcerated in Connecticut after he was identified by authorities familiar with his distinctive style, police said this week. The man was allegedly  caught on surveillance video at multiple scenes wearing the same distinctive hat, which would eventually lead to the new charges.

A familial disagreement led to a woman throwing a knife at her teenage son this week, New Canaan police said. Police arrived at the home after the 16-year-old called police and arrested the woman, who they said was drunk upon their arrival.

A Fairfield man is accused of assaulting his girlfriend and then spraying a witness -- who was attempting to call 911 -- with a garden hose.

Wilton police say a T.J. Maxx employee allegedly used a scam over a nearly five-month period to issue credit to her store customer "value" card amounting to over $300 for ostensibly returned merchandise.

A 24-year-old Norwalk man assaulted and held a samurai sword to a female victim’s neck after she returned home, police said. The victim had her cell phone in her hand and was able to dial her ex-boyfriend’s phone number, and, although she didn’t speak with her former boyfriend, he was able to hear what was happening, police said.

A Norwalk woman told police her husband violated a protective order when he entered her home through the window of a guest bedroom, and that when she confronted him, he cursed at her and pushed a TV set onto the floor. She said that he wanted to see their son and daughter, but after she shouted at him that she was calling the police, he left out the window.

Two men, ages 23 and 31, showed up at a middle school in Darien saying they were broke and lost, then tried to sell marijuana to students in the parking lot, said police, who later arrested them.

Two men stole a $2,000 machine used for dry cleaning from a business in Darien, and when they learned police were looking for them, the men showed up at the store

to try to get the complaint withdrawn, police said.
