When police showed up at a house on Mansfield Street, a resident started an altercation that ended with a tasing, according to reports from the Bethel Police Department.
Police responded to a call of a domestic dispute at about 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 15. When they arrived, they allegedly found 39-year-old Terrence Wiles lying in bed, drunk and screaming for them to leave, according to reports.
Police say he "attempted to get up in an aggressive manner." And as he sat up, police allegedly saw him reach for a "large survival knife" by his side in bed. That's when they tased him, according to reports, with multiple officers allegedly working to restrain him.
Wiles was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interfering with the Duties of a Police Officer.
