Police: Danbury Hospital Employee Sexually Assaulted Patient

The arrest of the 47-year-old man is the result of a lengthy investigation.

A 47-year-old Danbury Hospital employee has been arrested in relation to allegations that he sexually assaulted a patient who was under his care.

According to a report released Sept. 5 by Danbury Police, the man, Michael Wilmot, was arrested on two counts of first-degree sexual assault.

The alleged assault took place around June 12, police said, and the arrest is the result of what the department characterized as a lengthy investigation by the Special Victims Unit. Wilmot is a patient care technician at the hospital, according to police. 

A spokesperson at Danbury Hospital could not be reached for comment as of Thursday morning.
