An African-American man was walking along Main Street in Monroe on Thursday afternoon when someone in a station wagon filled with white teenagers shouted a racial slur and threw a milkshake at him.

There have been four black bear sightings in Monroe over a five day period. In one of the incidents, campers watched as a bear ate their food off of a picnic table.

A Trumbull man allegedly , alleged drug money, narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his car. Trumbull police said they were assisting State Police in looking for a suspicious person when they checked his license plate and pulled him over. (He was not the intended target by State Police.)

One thief grabbed four boxes of shampoo worth $300 from a CVS store in Darien, then handed them off to his fellow thief at the door, Darien police said. When a store manager became suspicious, the man left. The man was described as wearing plaid shorts and black shoes (compounding a legal offense with a crime of fashion). It turns out that the shampoo maker, Kérastase, its high-priced products.
