Newtown Woman Charged with DUI

Driving through a red light leads to DUI charge Friday.

Bethel police reportedly observed Annemarie Davis, 22, of Merlins Lane, Newtown, traveling north on Chestnut Street and fail to stop for a red light at the intersection of Greenwood Ave. at 12:09 a.m. on Sept. 20.

Police conducted a traffic stop and after speaking with Davis determined she was operating under the influence.

Davis failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence and failure to obey a red light.

She was released on bond with a court date scheduled for Sept. 30.
