Firefighters Extinguish RV Trailer Fire Early Friday Morning

Information and pictures by Bethel Fire Marshal Tom Galliford.

One minute before 2 a.m. on Friday, April 15, Bethel and Stony Hill Volunteer firefighters were awoken from their sleep to the tones and dispatch of a trailer on fire near a house on Rockwell Road.

Upon arrival, Bethel Fire Chief Ingram confirmed that a tow behind a RV trailer was fully involved with no exposures. Stony Hill Engine 3 arrived and stretched a handline and went to work extinguishing the blaze.

Bethel Engine 5, Bethel Tanker 1 and Stony Hill Tanker 2 (The Deuce) also responded and provided additional manpower and water. Crews extinguished the blaze in short order, overhauled, and assisted the FMO.

The cause is still being investigated and there were no reported injuries.

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
