Fairfield County Police Digest

The week's most unusual arrests from around Fairfield County. The information above was provided by area police departments. Neither arrests nor charges indicate a conviction, and neither means that a person is guilty of what police allege.

A  made several unathorized transactions using a relative's credit card over a 10 day time period in May 2012.

A burglar apparently  outside to enter a Monroe house and steal a total of $500 cash, a small video camera and an older IBM laptop.

At 1:20 a.m. one Monday morning, Darien Police say, they found an SUV stopped in front of a stop sign with the 33-year-old driver asleep at the wheel. The sleeping man was  holding the steering wheel with his left hand;  . The gear was still in drive. After repeated attempts, police eventually were able to wake the man up. Then they charged him with driving while under the influence and driving without a driver's license.

Trumbull Police said an Easton man and a Monroe woman  on Main Street in Trumbull near Edison Road. It was later determined they were robbed in Bridgeport trying to purchase narcotics, Trumbull police said.

Westport police charged a  under various paperwork and other items in his car’s glove compartment.

Norwalk police spotted a car this week sitting in an apartment complex parking lot. A closer inspection of the vehicle revealed a handgun and marijuana inside the vehicle.

Stamford Police are still looking for a van that was allegedly involved in the  parked in an Atlantic Street lot. The driver reportedly drove through a security guard's vehicle and the front gate to escape when confronted.
