Drug Take-Back Saturday in Bethel, Area Towns

Local police department is participating in a national Drug Take-Back Day.

The Bethel Police Department will be holding a prescription drug take-back from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, as part of a national event in conjunction with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The Take-Back Day provides an opportunity for the public to safely get rid of expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical substances and other medications for destruction. These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety if disposed of incorrectly.

This one-day effort is intended to bring national focus to the issue of increasing pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.
