Dec. 20: Man Charged With DUI After Failing Sobriety Tests, Having Open Liquor Bottle

Man Pulled Over on Wooster Street Monday Night.

On Monday, Dec. 20 at 11:25 p.m., the pulled over Andrew Nemergut, 22 of Easton, on Wooster Street after observing his vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign and for crossing over the yellow line. After failing a sobriety test, Nemergut was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to keep right and operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic device. 

According to the police, an open plastic bottle that smelt of alcohol was found in the passenger compartment, while an open bottle of hard liquor was found in the trunk of the vehicle. Nemergut was held on $500 bond and was due in court Tuesday morning.
