Brookfield Man Arrested After Stealing Groceries

The arrest was made Monday afternoon at Bethel's Big Y.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, the Bethel Police responded to the located at 83 Stony Hill Road in reguards to a man trying to steal about $270 in groceries. When the police arrived, the man, Michael Tagani, 46 of Pleasant Rise in Brookfield, was detained by store security. 

Police later learned that Tagani had an outstanding warrant in Brookfield for reckless driving and failure to appear in the second degree.

Tagani was arrested for the charges stemming from the Brookfield warrant and for larceny in the sixth degree from the Big Y incident. He was taken in to custody and held on $3,600 bond.
