Police Warning Residents About Rash of Car Break-Ins

The Bethel Police have received a number of reports of car break-ins on town property, and residents are urged to use caution.

Bethel Police are warning people to be especially vigilant when parking their cars at town parks or in the Educational Complex during the days. A number of car break-ins have been reported.

Police said numerous items have been taken from locked and unlocked cars at these locations. People are urged to double check to make sure they locked their car before walking away.

The police are urging people to hide objects of value or leave them at home. Don't give someone a reason to break into your car, police said.

Police are also urging people to limit the amount of time they leave their car parked in those locations and to check on it often.

In addition, police are asking people to promptly report any car break-in. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police at 203-744-5500.
