Bethel Man Arrested for Shooting BB at School Bus

A Hoyts Hill Road resident was charged with allegedly shooting a school bus from his front porch.

A Bethel man was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly firing a BB gun at a passing school bus.

According to reports, a DATTCO bus employee saw Paul Caprio, 46, fire a BB gun round at the bus as it passed by his front porch on Hoyts Hill Road.

The BB struck the side of the bus but did not make it inside.

There was only one passenger at the time — a young child, according to police — who was uninjured.

Caprio was arrested at 3 p.m. Monday and charged with risk of injury to a minor, reckless endangerment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the third degree.

He was released on bond with a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 8.
