Arresting News: Stealing Leftovers; Dangerous Donut Dust, 13 and In Charge

An 85-year-old Monroe man received a call from someone claiming that his  in California and needed money for medical care. The resident called police and his granddaughter, a Stratford resident who was fine and had not gone to California.

Two people are accused of in separate incidents. One allegedly took jewelry valued at $3,000. Police said another person pawned the jewelry. When confronted, the suspect confessed, police said.

A cleaning woman is also charged with taking linens, clothing, jewelry, a coin collection, a bottle of champagne and Persian rug, some of which was later found in her car, according to theConnecticut Post. The total value was $1,000, according to the Post.

Meanwhile, the FBI arrested three people regarding a  on Old Town Road, Trumbull, Thursday morning. The FBI said it was serving federal weapon and drug warrants. A nearby elementary school was locked down for 90 minutes because of the incident.

It was a busy Monday for security officials at Kohl’s department store in Fairfield.

Apparently, the woman left her four kids — ages, 13, 10, 4 and 18 months — at home and went to church, about 30 minutes before a babysitter was due to arrive. The 4-year-old , leading to the woman’s arrest.

A four-car crash in Wilton sent two persons to the hospital after a driver went over the double yellow line, side-swiped one car (which then hit another car) before crashing head-on into yet another car. The driver said she had smoke in her eye and didn't remember what happened. No one was seriously injured.
