Bruckenthal has been with the Bethel Police Department for 28 years, and well wishers said that he was very worthy of the position.

Chief Finch welcomed Bruckenthal into the position saying that there will be many forks in the road, but that he was confident Bruckenthal was ready to make the right choices in direction, even though it might sometimes be difficult.
