VIDEO: Statements by Lombino and Moore, Bethel Residents Appealing Marijuana Dispensary Application
Report and Photography by Paula Antolini
At the last Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing, on June 17, 2014, very compelling statements were made by Bethel residents Michael J. Moore and Philip M. Lombino, to support their efforts to appeal a decision by the Zoning Enforcement Officer Steve Palmer to approve application for a Zoning permit filed by Angela D'Amico and Karen Barski for use of property located at 16 Stony Hill Road / 4 Garella Road, Bethel, CT, as a Medical Marijuana Dispensary.
You can review the entire statement from each resident, below (I apologize ahead of time for the shaky camera. I was crawling on the floor to shoot these videos, also handling a still camera, and the room was extremely hot, filled to capacity, felt like over 100 degrees, a few fans were NOT enough to cool the room.):

Numerous attorneys also gave testimony, namely attorneys for Moore and Lombino, the attorney for D'Amico and Barski, and the attorney for Steve Palmer, averaging 30-60 minutes each, along with time for other statements taken for the record from various individuals, the result of which pushed the time allowed for resident comments to well past 10:30 p.m. Many residents had signed up to speak but many were not present when their name was called, probably due to the late hour and uncomfortable high temperature in the meeting room. Tonight's meeting is in same location, despite requests to hold the meeting in an air-conditioned venue.
Be sure to attend tonight's Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing, July 15, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the General Purpose Room of the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, 1 School Street, Bethel, CT, regarding the appeal by Moore and Lombino of an application for a Zoning permit filed by Angela D'Amico and Karen Barski.
