Here is the notice that went out to parents:
An Important message from the office of the Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools: At the moment Middle School is in a hold which is a modified lockdown. This morning several empty shell casings for a 22 caliber weapon were found on the floor outside the cafeteria. Due to an abundance of caution we are looking to identify the student who brought them to school and with the cooperation of the Bethel police, we are conducting a search of the entire building. All students are safe and we expect to have this resolved very shortly. Please DO NOT come to the school to pick your children up.
