Re-Tree The Ridge

Resident asks for Toll Brothers to replant the trees they have taken down.

Brian C. Walters II

We are asking all Bethel residents to sign the "Re tree the ridge" petition to insure that the developer of the "Summit at Bethel" project replants the tree line that they have scalped during the  construction of this project.

The "Summit" is a complete eyesore that dominates the view for everyone in town. The view of Shelter Rock Mountain should be for everyone in the community to enjoy, not just the people who have the luxury to live atop it. Clear cutting and mining to make the land suitable to build can no longer be allowed.  Not only are these practices ascetically unpleasing but they are detrimental to the environment as well. Trees must be replanted to ensure soil stabilization and screening for property owners who's once pristine natural views have been ruined by the placement of condos mere feet from the edge.

Local residents must band together and speak out on this issue. We must do something now before the charm of our quaint little town is lost forever. If practices like this continue Bethel will be known as "Yonkers North" in a few years. We cannot allow that to happen. Keep Bethel beautiful by signing this petition.

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
