, 24 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel, Saturday, 8:30 p.m.
Why Go: This is the third year of the 5k race and "is a beautiful course with good shade and a challenging, fun hill" and "a really well-run race and a great crowd of people." 

3. FREE PARKS & REC MAGIC SHOW
Where/When: 
Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, Bethel, Saturday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: 
On Saturday, from noon-4 p.m., the summer farmers market favorites will be returning to the municipal center, including Billy's BBQ and Whistle Stop Bakery. Parks & Recreation will also be offering a free magic show at 2 p.m.

Why Go: 
Come dressed and costume and enjoy singing, dancing and games. Also enjoy 50 percent off at Haagan Daz the day of the event.

Why Go: 
The Kids Fest is informative, educational, entertaining, and fun for the whole family. Kids and adults are entertained and informed throughout the day with a diverse schedule of shows, entertainment, hands on activities and educational displays, puppet shows, free caricature drawings and face paintings, magic and dance demonstrations, and much, much more. Exhibit booths allow consumers to fully explore a vast array of children and family oriented products and services in today’s marketplace.
Pricing: $10 (100 percent of the admission fees will go directly to The American Cancer Society)
