Get Out This Weekend: Young Hollywood, Benefit Relay 2011, Memorial Day Parade

What to do in and around Bethel this weekend.

1.
Where/When: 155 Main St, Danbury, Thursday, 6-11 p.m.
Why Go: All ages are welcome to see Young Hollywood, , at WestConn Thursday night. Young Hollywood is one of several bands to play at event. The concert is open to all ages and a bar will be open for the 21 and older crowd.
Pricing: $8, $5 with a WSCU Student ID

2. 
Where/When: 59 Rockwell Road, Bethel, Saturday, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Why Go: On Saturday a huge tag sale will be held in Bethel to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Sporting goods, household items, books, clothes, toys, etc. will be sold. There will also be a kids lemonade stand and bake sale. All proceeds to Relay for Life.
Pricing: Free to browse, items/refreshments vary

3. 
Where/When: , Bethel, Saturday, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Why Go: All profits earned will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Bethel/Danbury/Redding. All dogs will get a bandanna and a bathroom bag. There will be games, raffles, food and much more. Email Allison or Paul at bethelb4l@gmail.com for a registration form.
Pricing: Pre-registration $10, Day of $15

4. 
Where/When: 4 Sunset Lane, Ridgefield, Saturday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Why Go: For the history lovers out there, aselection of Ridgefield’s notable historic addresses will be open to the public to provide a rare glimpse into the history and architecture of the town. For those who purchased the ‘Toast the Tour’ tickets , a cocktail reception will be held at a former Publishing Magnate’s summer home within the historic village. Proceeds from the tour support the work of the Ridgefield Historic Society in preservation, interpretation and fostering knowledge of Ridgefield’s heritage.  
Pricing: $30 for the tour; $75 for the tour and cocktail reception.

Where/When: Downtown Bethel, Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: The Bethel Patriotic Association will put on the Bethel Memorial Day Parade, which will march up Greenwood Avenue, turn left at P.T. Barnum Square and then left again onto School Street finishing in front of the Veterans Monument in from of the Municipal Center. Immediately following the parade the Memorial Day Ceremony will commence on the steps of the Municipal Center.
Pricing: Free
