Why Go: Craft festival will take place on the front lawn of the Newbury Inn located at 1030 Federal Rd. in Brookfield. Rain or shine.

Where/When:720 Branchville Rd, Ridgefield, Saturday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: People traveling to Ridgefield for the Fall for Ridgefield events are encouraged to stop by first annual Branchville Oktoberfest on Saturday Oct. 15 for beer, brats, music, fun, and a ghost wing eating contest that starts at 1 p.m. Little Pub is running a wing eating contest using their infamous “ghost” wings made with a supernaturally hot pepper sauce derived from India’s bhut jolokia “ghost pepper,” the world’s hottest pepper.

Why Go: Over 100,000 items sorted into over 50 categories. Also, audio books, DVDs, CDs, records, videos, most hardcovers $2, Paperbocks $0.50 and up, collectible books: $5 and up.
