Obituary: Stephanie G. LaCava

Stephanie G. LaCava dies at the age of 40.

Stephanie G. (Golankiewicz) LaCava, of Bethel, beloved wife of Jeffrey LaCava, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Danbury, daughter of Bart and Cathy (Mandelino) Golankiewicz on August 22, 1971.

LaCava attended Bethel schools and graduated from Bethel High School in 1989. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Economics in 1993, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She enjoyed skiing and tennis, spending time with her children and her large circle of friends, and was known to be an excellent cook.
After working for many years in the banking industry, Stephanie began her work as a stay-at-home mom. She was dedicated to her husband, children, family and friends. She was active in the St. Mary Church and School community where she served as the President of the Home School Association, Track coach, and volunteer for numerous events and activities.

A loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children Zachary and Hannah, of Bethel; her sister and brother-in-law Catherine-Ann and Raymond Manzella and their children Sophia and Maxwell, of Woodbury; her grandmother Anna Golankiewicz; and several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many very close friends who all adored her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, from 4 to 8 pm.
