Obituary: Salomea Golabek, 92

Salomea -- mother, grandmother and great-grandmother -- passed away January 7 at her home in Ossining, NY.

Salomea Barbara (Jakubek) Golabek, age 92, of Ossining, NY, formerly of Bethel, CT died Monday, January 7, 2013 at her home. She was the widow of Aloysius M. Golabek. She was born in Yonkers, NY, April 4, 1920 daughter of Kajetan and Marianna (Szukala) Jakubek.

She is survived by her sons: Allan L. Golabek of North Carolina, Robert M. Golabek of Ossining, NY; daughters: Elaine Peterson of New Windsor, NY, Jacqueleen Golabek of Ossining, NY, Salomea Slater of Bethel, CT; 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, Thursday morning at 10:00. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel.
