Mildred L. (Gavin) MacIntyre, of Bethel, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Wilbur A. MacIntyre. She was born December 10, 1932, in Barre, VT daughter of the late Jeannette and John Gavin.
MacIntyre had lived in Danbury most of her life, before moving to Bethel 10 years ago. She was a member of The Clan MacIntyre, was very involved with the Bethel Senior Center and participated in many of their volunteer programs for the community. She enjoyed traveling, ceramics, knitting and her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 2 sons: Bruce MacIntyre and his wife Lois of Manning, SC, James MacIntyre and his wife Jeannie of Danbury; 4 daughters: Susan Villa and her husband Gary of Washington, VT, Debbie MacIntyre of New Milford, CT, Sandy MacIntyre of Bethel, CT, Jean Letizia and her husband Joseph of Brookfield, CT; 1 brother: Richard Gavin; 3 sisters: Shirley Simpson, Betty West, Dorothy Ryan; 15 grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Meghan, Brendan, Jessica, Cody, Bruce Jr., Mon, Sasha, Tina, Norman, Justin, Joshua, Yon, Nate and Tanya; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Rd., Wilton, CT 06897.
The funeral will be held at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Friday, December 23 at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury in the spring.
