Linda Burbage, 83: 'A Home Rich in Traditions and Love'

Linda Martins Burbage, age 83, beloved wife of Frank Burbage who predeceased her in January 2007, of Bethel CT passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on July 12, 2013 after a long 17 year battle with Alzheimers Disease.

Daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Martins, Linda was born in Brooklyn NY on June 14, 1930. Prior to residing in Bethel the last 36 years, she lived in Newark, NJ where she was an Administrative Secretary at St. James hospital before getting married to Frank and moving to Sayreville, NJ.

Before her illness, Linda was a member at St. Mary's Church and enjoyed day trips and vacations with family to Hyde Park, The Jersey Shore, the Poconos, and Rhode Island. As her disease progressed, she enjoyed being part of the Almost Home community.

Those who knew Linda knew her selfless nature and how she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. From Sunday family dinners to BBQ's and holidays, Linda provided a home rich in traditions and love.

Linda is survived by four children; Frank Santos and his wife Patricia, Maryfrances Vaughan and her husband Michael, Michele Burbage and her companion Don Halberg, Michael Burbage and his wife Dawn, 12 grandchildren; Jennifer, Janine, Philip, Kea'ra, Rebecca, Brenton, Matthew, Aaron, Katelin, Ryan, Talleah, Emily, and 13 great grandchildren. Linda was recently predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Trista Vaughan.

Linda's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Danbury Hospital 8th floor staff for the loving care they provided during her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, Tuesday morning at 11:00. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel. There are no calling hours.
