In Memoriam: Helen Murphy, 95

Helen L. Murphy, 95, of Bethel, passed away peacefully at Glen Hill Health Care Center on Saturday, May 25, 2013.

Helen was born in Danbury, daughter of the late M. Thomas and Sarah (Brady) Murphy. She graduated from Bethel High School and had worked for many years a secretary for the Town of Bethel Building Superintendent and Fire Marshal's Office. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Church and the Bethel VFW and served as a Past President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Murphy of Sebastapol, CA, her sisters-in law Carol and May Murphy of Bethel and Caroline Murphy of Sebastapol, CA, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters: Margaret Barrett and Anne DeFlumeri and her brothers: Robert, Joseph, Charles and James Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, Bethel, on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
