In Memoriam: Alfred Oswald, 82, Printer and Woodworker

Alfred S. Oswald, 82, of Bethel,, husband of the late Nellie (Dickson) Oswald, died at his home on Thursday, July 18, 2013.

Mr. Oswald was born in Passaic, NJ, September 27, 1930, son of Stephen and Mary Oswald. He attended schools in New Jersey.

A resident of Bethel since 1968 coming from Clifton, NJ, Mr. Oswald was a retired printer with the Risdon Corporation of Danbury.

He enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys for children and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Robin M. Koval of Bethel; a son, Glenn Oswald of Southbury, CT; a brother, Herbie Furhman of Clifton, NJ; a sister, Catherine Brykajlo and her husband, Peter also of Clifton, NJ; five grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Becca, Jeremy and Damon and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM.

Contributions in Mr. Oswald’s memory may be made to Toys for Tots.
