Devoted Mother, Homemaker Extraordinaire Lucy Bonacci, 90

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday morning. There are no calling hours.

The following obituary was provided by Cornell Memorial Home.

Lucille Marie Bonacci, age 90, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17 surrounded by her loving family at the Bethel Health Care facility. Born on Sept. 22, 1922, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Donatico of South Norwalk, CT.

She graduated from local schools and as many women did at the time went into factory work in support of the war abroad. It was during that war and while joining friends at the local Friday night dances that she met the love of her life, Frank Bonacci, who would become her dance partner for life.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years in 2007, as well as three brothers, five sisters and her daughter in law, Deborah.

She leaves behind three sons, Joseph and his wife Patricia of Danbury, John of New Fairfield, and Frank Jr. and his wife Joan of Newtown; plus six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one she had hoped to meet in October.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies guild and various prayer groups during her life.

A devoted mother and homemaker extraordinaire, she will always be remembered by family and friends for the marvelous food she was all too willing to share with any and all who would stop by at a moment’s notice as she always cooked more than enough, just in case.
